About the project

Disability is one of the most significant factors of social exclusion, when these people often encounter unfavourable conditions and attitudes in their life. They are often disadvantaged in many areas of their lives, such as work, access to housing and education or they have limited opportunities to spend their free time. Our main goal is to support the social inclusion mindset in society through sport. Sport is perceived by society primarily as a way of physical development and maintaining physical health or as a form of relaxation and mental health support. But sport also fulfils an important socialisation and integration function and has great potential to play a significant role in the field of social inclusion. We would like to open a discussion about problems of people with disabilities, change the public's approach to people with disabilities and help to integrate them into society. It is also often more difficult for people with disabilities to meet new people or build friendships. Sport is therefore an ideal activity that provides the opportunity to participate in a group and share interests, it promotes interpersonal relationships and facilitates the formation of friendships. However, access to sports is often very difficult for people with disabilities due to financial demands, a limited range of sports activities or little awareness of the possibilities of sports for people with disabilities. Thanks to the project, we want to change these weaknesses and our goal is promoting tolerance for diversity, supporting collaboration and doing sports without segregation.
